As an owner-operated business with over 40 years experience, we’ve built a business that’s trusted to deliver warehousing, freight forwarding, Port services and complex logistics for local, national and global brands.

Service Areas
We’re an owner-operator business and from our head office and main depot in Townsville we connect Queensland with the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
With depots in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay we service Far North and Central West Queensland with regular scheduled routes to Darwin.
Our depot in Darwin connect towns and remote Stations and project sites from Alice Springs to Pine Creek and Darwin to Townsville.
We also have services linking to Western Australia out of our Darwin depot.

Our history
Our story stretches back to when Dennis Payne carted bulk goods and farming equipment to and from the depot in Townsville, as Dennis Payne Transport. A family-run company, Dennis and the team serviced routes from Townsville to Charters Towers, Tully, Cairns and forged early routes to Darwin.
Our Managing Director, Anthony Stevenson began working for Dennis in 2000 as the Operations Manager as well as building his own business, Distribution Direct a warehouse, side loading and transport company.
In 2015, Anthony and his wife Kim bought Dennis Payne Transport, growing Distribution Direct into an end-to-end transport and logistic company.
We’ve proudly remained an owner-operated business with strong family values and connection to our local communities.
